For much of the world, the lotus is an important and enduring symbol of the spiritual process. It begins its life as a seed buried deep in the mud of a pond. As it sprouts and begins to grow, its long stalk extends itself towards the light above. When at last it reaches the surface, it opens itself to expose one of the worlds most beautiful flowers.
Each woman begins her life as a child, just like the lotus seed. Her growth into womanhood is like the steam reaching out toward the light and her becoming a mother is like the opening of the flower. At last, the lotus flower creates her seeds, and the woman becomes an elder. The life cycle of the lotus is also the story of the unfolding of human spirituality. From the depths of materiality, the mud at the bottom of the pond, awakens the spiritual urge to rise towards the light. When the plan reaches the surface of the pond, it finds another world, as it is transformed from a long stalk to a pristine open flower.

Pewter is a malleable metal alloy, traditionally 85–99% tin, with the remainder consisting of copper and other metals. It has a low melting point and is very easy to cast in molds. It has been used since ancient times for everything from jewelry to table wear and was once called the "poor mans silver". Generally pewter has a grayish/silver semi-dull finish, though this varies depending on the metals combined with the tin and can be colored black or other shades or plated with gold or silver. All our pewter pieces are lead and nickel free. Pewter is generally hypo-allergenic and will not tarnish or react in most conditions. Note it can break or crack if flexed multiple times and rings cannot be re-sized, though interior ring springs or other adjusters might be used. |
